Roman been selected Third Team FCS All-American for the 2009 college football season as voted on by The Associated Press, named to the 2009 AFCA Football Championship Subdivision Coaches’ All-America Team as selected by the American Football Coaches Association. Roman is also a first-team all-American for the second-straight year. This fall, he ranked second on the Mountaineers with 107 total tackles to go along with a sack, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, four quarterback hurries and a forced fumble. He finished his career with 408 tackles, tops among all active Division I FCS players in 2009 and the third-most in ASU history.

2008: Roman recorded 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks last season to go along with four fumble recoveries.

Roman is a leader and plays with a high motor, he shows straight line speed. When edge rushing in pressure schemes, he shows discipline in peel rule assignments and on quick flare back. Overall, productive player who plays pretty good assignment football. He has decent straight line speed. A consistent form tackler who wraps up.

Despite being a good athlete he has not shown the hip fluidity of a weakside linebacker, the skills in coverage to match up against pro level TEs and RBs, but also displays stiffness and seems to lack a variety of moves when rushing the passer.

Late-round pick or PUDFA who will make is living on special teams and as a reserve MLB or SLB.
