OverviewPulley is this season a five time conference Offensive Player of the Week and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award; as well as the 2009 MEAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Curtis Pulley, Florida A&M, led the MEAC in total offense with 2,705 yards and ranked third in rushing and passing. He completed 60-percent of his passes (137-of-226) with 1,824 yards and 12 touchdowns. He led the Rattlers in rushing with 881 yards on 122 carries with six touchdowns.
StrengthsCurtis Pulley is athletic (35-inch vertical) and has an SEC background as a Kentucky transfer, he can drop back into the pocket very smoothly, he has a quick overhead release getting rid of the ball. He's very elusive when he tucks the ball and runs well when his targets are covered. As a passer he shows touch on the ball when throwing intermediate routes his with his athletic ability and pocket presence are well above average.
WeaknessesHe has a deliberate delivery and an inconsistent ball flight. It's still unclear, however, if he can make quick decisions against a pro defense. Though shows the arm strength to place a ball downfield 40-45 yards without problems, his anticipation and accuracy seemed to be off target when throwing check downs and screens. When scrambling he needs to have better ball security. Pulley has some natural skills as quarterback but lacks consistent steam on throws to the opposite hash, spotty accuracy and has a mechanical delivery.
ProjectionHe's likely a PUDFA, he's intriguing and though some have compared him to Isiah Stanback, he is not as powerfully built and is more of a glider. He might develop into a real pro QB with time but needs the CFL or UFL for a few years. Unless it becomes clearer that he has an NFL position it's unlikely he'll be drafted.
