OverviewSedric is a 2006 graduate of Fairfield Central High School in Blair, South Carolina where he made a name for himself in the North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl all-star game. Sedric was a 3-time all-region selection, and he totalled 156 tackles, including 103 solo hits, with 27 tackles for loss, five sacks and three interceptions as a senior. He also set a school record with 204 total tackles as a junior. Sedric also lettered in track and was named a Wendy's High School Heisman winner.
At Georgia Tech, Sedric played extensively on special teams as a true freshman in 2006, compiling 11 tackles, mostly on special teams. In 2007, he saw action in 11 games with 4 tackles. StrengthsExplosive young athlete who hits hard and has the kind of size and nastiness to really become a force on the inside. If he declares, he has the same kind of nose for the football as FSU's Buster Davis, and can slice through piles to find the ball carrier--often in the backfield. Gets good pressure when rushing as well, and forces the action. Intense, hard-hitting ILB candidate who will be only just 21 years old if drafted in 2009, and has plenty of football ahead of him with little wear and tear behind him. Big-play LB potential here.
WeaknessesA litte bit undersized and has not been tested much as a pass defender. Has a tendency to try to do too much at times, and thus can take himself out of plays and over-runs others. Needs to be coached up. Sometimes goes for the big hit when the sure hit is called for. May always be somewhat of a liability in pass D, and may only ever be a 2-down, and short-yardage LB.
