OverviewC.J. Ah You is a strong, quick defensive end out of Lone Peak HS (Highland, UT). After registering twelve sacks as a prep senior, he stayed in-state and signed with BYU. He didn't see much playing time there due to an knee injury in 2002, so he transferred to Snow Junior College (Ephraim, UT). He played his 2003 season there, transferring again to Oklahoma for the last two years of his eligibility. He started 21 games there over the past two years, and has grown into a solid, consistent player.
StrengthsHe is a physical player who is aggressive and nasty at the point of attack. He has the feet and agility to flow to the ball, and he has the playing strength and technique to keep blockers out of his body. He has enough speed and athletic ability to cover in short areas and to make plays in the backfield.
WeaknessesHe doesn't play as fast as his timed speeds. He doesn't show any pass rushing skills that translate to the next level. He struggles to recognize screens and draws, and will get out of position. He is an aged prospect with limited upside.
ProjectionAh You will be a late fifth to early sixth round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
