Overview

Strong tackler and solid hitter who is regarded among the top defenders of the Buckeyes. 5th in tackles and 2nd in intercpetions with 3, Russell successfully recovered from a knee injury to be among the leading tacklers as a sophomore. Intelligent player who spends alot of time in the film room.

Strengths

Sure tackler with excellent size and strength for strong safety. Great in run support and can meet rushers in the hole and make the tackle. Also able to rush the passer off the edge.

Weaknesses

Poor man-to-man coverage skills (was burned twice against Navy this year for TDs) that must be improved since most teams will see him as a free safety.
