OverviewShonn Greene came from virtually nowhere to becoming a star this year for the Hawkeyes. He only had 378 rushing yards in his career prior to his breakout season. He was named 1st Team All Big 10 and Iowa's co-MVP.
At the NFL Combine he ran 4.63/4.65 unofficially, which disappointed a lot of people. He also posted a 37" vertical and a 10'1" broad jump. LATE NOTE: At the Iowa Pro Day he ran a bit better (4.55/4.59) with a 39" vertical jump, a 10'6" broad jump, a 4.25 short shuttle and did 23 bench reps. StrengthsShonn runs with great power but also has acceptable speed. Has very good vision in which he follows his blockers. Very patient runner who allows the play to develop in front of him. He is very difficult to tackle and frequently takes a whole gang of defenders before falling down. Extremely consistent, become the first running back since Curtis Enis in 1997 to rush for at least 100 yards in every game. Runs very low to the ground and maintains balance through the defender, allowing for extra yards.
WeaknessesNot a great receiver with only 8 receptions. You also have to wonder if he really IS this good. After only one year I think scouts have a legitimate right to ask. Failed to impress at the Combine and ran slower than people thought he might. A lot of his really big games were also against sub-par competition.
ProjectionGreene did just burst onto the scene, but I do think he is a very solid prospect who should go on the first day. However, I thought the best thing for him would've been to go back to school to further polish his game. He will probably go in the mid second to mid third round area, but I think he is just a tad bit over-rated at this point.

All time greats Waltor payton, Barry Sanders, and Emit Smith did not have great speed. Grene maybe the best RB in draft. He is a 2nd round steel. And by the way he ran a 4.55 at his pro day User: hotbyoungturk Date/Time: 02/22/2009 - 1:30PM CST Predicted Round: Round 3 dude just ran an unofficial 40 time of 4.65. 3rd round.
