StrengthsBig, strong, dual-threat QB who is a very strong runner and has a strong arm. Throws a nice tight spiral, and has made some incredible throws for the Illini. OK receiving the ball either from center or the shotgun. Smooth release and shows some touch. Strong option reader and executor. Can find receivers when given time and work a progression. Athlete, who could be used in a variety of ways at that next level.
WeaknessesVery inconsistent, game-to-game, play-to-play, and season-to-season. Seems to have a memory. Has fallen into a loser's mindset at times. Misfires frequently. May lack confidence. Tends to lock onto his primary target at times. Has been surrounded by solid talent at times, but still struggled to win. A bit of an enigma, overall.
Projection7th-priority UDFA who will have to carved a home at the next level. Might make a decent move TE, or ST warrior and #3 QB.

He will have a good year next year and have a good combine, and be talked about maybe being a Daunte Cullpepper without as much of an arm. He has great speed for a QB, and is accurate enough not to switch to receiver like some other QB's. Rate This Player |
