Overview

A top notch DIII back from a top notch DIII program. Justin has been amazingly productive in his three years playing for the Warhawks of WI-Whitewater. He is a large reason why the hawks have been in the national championship game the past two seasons. He has compiled 4,276 yards in his three seasons, and scored 29 TDs. Justin's stats were down a bit in 2006 after missing four games with a collar bone that was shattered in three places. He is fully healthy again entering his final campaign. Set an all-time single-game rushing record for WI-Whitewater in '06, but broke his collar bone on the play that broke the record. Injured himself the same day that Adrian Peterson did. Justin ran a 4.49 and a 4.51 on a track (hand held) at WI-W timed by his coach in the spring of '07.

Strengths

Good short area burst. Very good run vision. Very strong for his size (22 reps.) Good overall agility and ahtleticism. Amazingly productive at a low level of competition. Has some return ability. Chops well.

Weaknesses

Not big enough to take the pounding in the NFL. Must be used only as a 3rd-down scatback and on special teams. Good, but not great blocker. Untested hands. Does not possess elite speed.

Projection

mid-level UDFA

Interview with Justin Beaver

Interviewed on: Tuesday, May 1st, 2007
Steve Martin: Hi Justin. Coach Berezowitz gave me your number last year... for some reason I thought you were already a senior then, so I have just been waiting for this latest draft to get over so I could give you a call.
Justin Beaver: Well, thanks.
SM: What is a conservative height and weight for you, Justin?
JB: I am 5'8.5", and 200 pounds.
SM: You've added some weight, huh?
JB: Yes.
SM: Well, that's really good if you can keep that weight without losing any of your speed.
JB: That's right... I think I have been able to do that... I ran a 4.49 and 4.51 just recently.
SM: How many bench reps can you do?
JB: 22.
SM: Really? Wow... that's awesome for a guy your size... very impressive.
JB: Thanks.
