OverviewTrevyn is a 2005 graduate of Springvale, H.S. in Springvale, Utah where he led the entire state of Utah in rushing during the 2004 season with 2,108 yards, averaging a staggering 9.1 yards per carry. Trevyn was just the 11th player in Utah high school history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season. He was named a 1st-Team All-State Class 4A choice by both the Deseret Morning News and The Salt Lake Tribune. He was also named the 2004 OLD SPICE / RED ZONE PLAYER OF THE YEAR for the state of Utah, one of 50 high school players in the country accorded that honor. Trevyn also played defensive back for the Red Devils.
He redshirted in 2005 for the Wildcats of Weber State. In 2006, he was 3rd on the depth chart before injuries to the backs ahead of him thrust him into action where he gained 1182 yards on 205 carries with 8 TDs. As a redshirt sophomore in 2007, Trevyn put up 263-1383-7. His career year was in 2008 with a veteran offensive line and a drafted FB in Marcus Malei: 295-1658-21. Weber suffered a couple of key injuries on the O-line in 2009, and Trevor's numbers slipped to 234-1049-7. StrengthsDurable back who has been very productive in one of the three best FCS conferences for a full four years (997-5272-43TDs, rushing; and, 118-1349-9 catching.) Never fumbled once as a RB (twice in other areas--once receiving/once returning), so he is a NUT about ball security. Very good hands, and has been used a lot as a receiver. Plays bigger than his height, and is very strong and compact. Faster than most people think, and can get the job done on the edge and up the middle. Has true 3rd-down back ability. Versatility and durability are his calling cards. Mature-married with children. 37" vertical. Smart RB who follows the blocking scheme and picks the right hole.
WeaknessesShort. Not a blazer. Has not faced elite competition. Smallish hands. Can block some, but is physically limited in that area. Lacks elite shiftiness and openfield moves. Can be a bit quirky, and has some minor yellow-flag type behavioral situations in his past.
Projection6-7th rounder who would be a steal for some team as a UDFA if he goes undrafted. Tough, gutsy, smart and mature football player.
