Overview2009 Consensus All-American & All-Big 12 selection. Started 13 games in 2009.
StrengthsStrong, tough athlete and one of the fastest LOT candidates to ever enter the NFL draft. NFL frame and physique. Quick off the ball and into his man, gets a strong push at the point, and sticks to his blocks. Gets to the second level, and can execute blocks in the open field. Plays with natural strength and leverage. Good feet, is smooth into his pass drops, and plays with a low, wide base. Very strong hands and arms help him to keep rushers from his body. Switched to LT in '09 after starting at RT as an underclassmen, and handled the switch well, considering he was the only returning starter from '08.
WeaknessesNot as quick as some of the ultra-elite LT prospects that have come out in recent years, but not bad. Was victimized by stunts on several occasions this season, but none of the other linemen had started before '09 so they were more to blame for mistakes than Williams.
ProjectionSolid mid-first round choice who will be asked to play LT. Has the tools, but can always revert to his old RT position. Either way, a good player who will start for a long time.

Date/Time: 04/15/2010 - 7:37AM CDT Predicted Round: Round 1 Okung isn't the top-rated tackle by the Redskins. Oklahoma's Trent Williams is. While most teams had Okung rated as the best, a sizable number had Williams as the better prospect. One team had Iowa's Bryan Bulaga as the best of the 2010 class. Okung is the safe pick. Williams, due to his greater athleticism, has the higher upside. Most importantly (at least in terms of the Washington Redskins), he's the better fit in Mike Shanahan's zone-blocking offense. There are sure to be plenty of surprises on draft day. User: RichEisenIsGod Date/Time: 01/6/2010 - 3:47PM CST Predicted Round: Round 1 He's a right tackle. User: Lionsman11 Date/Time: 12/24/2009 - 12:49PM CST Predicted Round: Round 1 His stock has fallen this season, but I think he will still go in the first round somewhere between Bruce Campbell and Charles Brown. User: NinerFan85 Date/Time: 12/8/2009 - 11:20PM CST Predicted Round: Round 1 He'll go pretty high. I see him as a dominant RT but thats what I thought about Jake Long, so you never know.
