OverviewHighly-decorated small school athlete who actually outplayed several 2008 senior GLIAC D-linemen who were in NFL camps during the summer of 2009. Led GLIAC in sacks in 2009 (13.0). Named to numerous All-American lists in 2009 (including 3rd Team AP Little All-American) and was the CDS Preseason DII Defensive Player of the Year. Valero Cactus Bowl invitee.
StrengthsPro size and agility. Good enough speed (mid 4.8s) to remain at DE, although he definitely has the frame (and age) to grow and be looked at inside. Looks like a solid 4-3 strongside DE candidate right now. Solid character. Very young (b. 8-22-88). Very productive in DII's finest conference for the last 2 years. A fine student, and football smart. Very quick and uses a variety of moves to pressure the quarterback. Has increased his mass by 20 pounds from 2008 and has still kept his speed - could add some more mass as he grows. Understands leverage, and sets up his opponent. Fine motor and wants it.
WeaknessesMay be considered a bit of a tweener at the next level and has not had the opportunity to go against elite competition. Very soft spoken, and not much of a vocal leader.
Projection7th round with a solid pro-day performance
