OverviewJuamorris Stewart has been named to the 2009 AFCA Football Championship Subdivision Coaches’ All-America Team as selected by the American Football Coaches Association. Stewart wrapped up one fo the most successful stints in the history of Southern University football. He finished his career as SU's All-Time leading pass catcher with 201 career receptions. He also had 2,668 career receivng yards and 25 touchdowns. In the 2009 season alone, Stewart led the SWAC with with 81 catches for 1,028 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Stewart is a Southern Miss transfer and he took a while to break out but he did in a big way last season with 76 grabs for 1,138 yards and 12 touchdowns on his way to 1st team All-SWAC honors. StrengthsStewart is a smooth athlete that does a good job avoiding the press at the line of scrimmage, where he can create mismatches on the outside. He is getting stronger and has very good playing speed.
WeaknessesBall security has been an issue and a critical fumble cost Southern a wim versus PVAMU. He is a long-strider and though he has deep speed it is build up speed he could be quicker into and out of his breaks.
ProjectionAnytime from the late 6th on Stewart could be selected, if he improves on all the fine points of the position and runs in the low to mid 4.5s or faster he will not only be drafted he has a very good chance to contribute.
