Overview

Brandon is a 2006 graduate of Crockett Technical School in Detroit where led his school to its first Detroit Public School League title as a junior and a semifinal appearance in the Division 4 playoffs. Brandon was a four-year letterman, and recorded 307 tackles, including 112 tackles for loss and 56 sacks during his career. He also collected 16 fumble recoveries, forced six more and grabbed two interceptions in four years at Crockett. Graham averaged more than 40 yards per attempt as a punter. He was limited to seven games of action as a senior due to injury, tallying 98 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, two interceptions and forced six fumbles. He also tallied 20 sacks and 10 fumble recoveries his junior year. He was named a Parade Magazine All-American and an EA Sports All-American. He was named to the USA Today All-USA High School All-America first team and rated No. 14 player in the nation by USA Today. Brandon was also a Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year, and was ranked the No. 31 prep prospect by ESPN and became the first player from the state of Michigan to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. There, he was elected captain of the East squad for the U.S. Army game, collecting four tackles and one blocked field goal. He was also named a 2005 Detroit News No. 1 Blue Chip prospect coming out.

Brandon never redshirted and as a true freshman in 2006 at UM he played in 11 games and contributed three tackles and shared one sack. As a sophomore in '07, he played in all 13 contests and made five starts at defensive end,led the team in sacks (8.5), and was second in forced fumbles (three), tied for seventh in the Big Ten and tied for 34th nationally in sacks and tied for seventh in the conference and tied for 55th nationally in forced fumbles (0.25 avg.) He also contributed a career-best 25 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one pass breakup. In 2008, he started 11 games at defensive end. Impressively, 20 of his 46 stops were tackles for loss and he led the defensive line with a career-best 46 tackles, 20 TFLs and 10 sacks. Brandon was second nationally in tackles for loss and tied for seventh in sacks, and was one of only seven Wolverines to earn 10 or more sacks in one season. He now lists eighth in sacks and tied for seventh in tackles for loss in U-M's season record book,...all of this prior to his senior season.
Senior Bowl invitee. Measurements - arm: 30.5" hand: 9.9 Notes: Solid with broad shoulders, but short arms.

Strengths

Can really turn the corner and close to the QB. One of the draft's elite pure pass rushers. Young with lots of upside. Agile, quick, and moves well laterally. Can convert to OLB...but there may be no reason to do that for any team that plays a 4-3. Holds the point OK for his size. Stays low while turning the corner and is very tough for the OT to lock onto. Has been productive at the top level of NCAA competition.

Weaknesses

Sometimes goes to wide on the pass rush and becomes a non-factor on plays that are going the other way. Can be a little lackadaisical when plays aren't apparently coming to him. Not always off the snap on time, and sometimes times things poorly. Not real big, and lacks growth potential. May be a little too heavy for teams that want to look at him as an OLB conversion.

Projection

One of the top 3-5 pass-rushers available for the 2010 NFL draft. Can not go after the second round unless he does terrible interviews or post-season workouts.
