OverviewShawn is a 2005 graduate of Stoughton High School (MA) where he 4-year member, 3-year letter winner. Leonard was also a 2-year team captain and tallied over 1,000 receiving yards, 500+ rushing yards, and over 15 touchdowns as a senior quarterback. Shawn earned all-conference and all-district honors in football, basketball, and track. Once scored 33 points to help Stoughton clinch the league championship in basketball. He also broke a 27-year old conference record in high jump (6-08.25) in 2005 after earning all-state honors in 2004.
DNP at Rhoddy as a true freshman in '05. During his sophomore campaign in '06 he played in 10 games and tallied 18-408-3 and was the team's leading receiver. In 2007, he appeared in all 11 games and again led Rams in receptions (34) and yards (440) and tied for team lead in touchdown receptions (two). In 2008, his numbers were 41-608-5. StrengthsHas a lot of talent, and can use it to climb the ladder. Makes tough catches in traffic and wins in jump ball situations at this level. Has better speed than we are listing, I would guess. Very productive at this level and is really getting comfortable with a productive new QB. Was a 6'8" high jumper in High School and flashes that kind of athleticism when he wants to. Has above average hands, and seems to know how to get open and behind a defender.
WeaknessesDoesn't always give maximum effort. Lets the losing get to him. Doesn't always take advantage of his physical gifts. Has a long memory. Not a real blood and guts type. May need tough coaching. May be a bit of a prima donna.
Projection7th-UDFA type.
