Overview

Look out NFL...here comes another University of Miami defensive player who can flat out play the game. Will have a great NFL career. Unless...

Strengths

Speed. Size. Instinctive. Can cover you like a blanket. A Safety who will knock you in the teeth. Great footwork. Can play ANYWHERE in the secondary.

Weaknesses

Needs to get a bit stronger. Loves to throw his body all over the place leading to injuries. Character issues. Will the brawl he was involved in weigh on the minds of NFL scouts?

Projection

This kid is a Round 1 pick no doubt. But character issues could cause a fall in status. Again, the brawl and some other off-field stories could hamper Meriweather's stock.

As much as Brandon Meriweather has been punished so far, he can flat out play the game. When the NFL studies the film, they will forget about the Fla Int'l game and see him as the 2nd best safety in the draft---a lot closer to Laron Landry than most people think. A steal in the late first round for the Patriots!!!--thanks for listening---rich from newport

I know about the issues with Brandon, but truelly I see him as one of the most talented safeties in this years draft. Meriweather's style of play would fit a defense like NE's very well. this could be the perfect replacement for Rodney Harrison, who also plays with a mean streak.

I think he will slip to the 2nd or 3rd round but along with Michael Griffin I think he is the most talented Safety with the most upside and range, faster then Landry, Plays the run very well which Nelson cant do, and is as good in coverage as any Safety in this draft and is a play maker. 1st round talent

We all made stupid mistakes when we were young. Hopefully he learned from his. What makes me crazy about this site is that they make comments on players not picked to be drafted, then have nothing to say about guys who kicked butt all week at the Senior Bowl. Come on, guys! Please get those comments up.
