OverviewPlayed in 13 games in 2009 and led the team in tackles.
StrengthsUltra-instinctive LB is a tackling machine for the Cyclones. Spends much time in film study and it translates to the field. Makes accurate, quick reads and seems to be moving to the ball before the snap. Attacking player who closes in a hurry. Plays inside out and avoids trash along the way. Not big, but can fight through blocks. Form tackler. Has a feel for schemes and shows up in all facets of the defense. Good in zone coverage and makes timely breakups/interceptions. Some room to grow. Team Captain. Has some Zach Thomas in him.
WeaknessesNot big and will need to play in a 4-3 scheme where he can be free to run to the ball. Very tough but can get engulfed by big linemen. Not tall nor overly fast or athletic.
ProjectionLacks the measurables but you can't measure heart. Great college player who will be a low-round pick or free agent, but don't bet against his becoming a starter in the NFL.
