Overview

Turner is an experienced QB, starting 30 games as a three-year starter. Big-game QB with a 6-2 record against ranked teams. Ranks with Boomer Esiason and Shaun Hill among all-time Maryland QBs. Highly recruited player who also starred as a prep pitcher in baseball.

Strengths

Turner has excellent size for the position and an NFL arm. He also comes up big in pressure situations (against top 25 teams and also 4th quarter comebacks).

Weaknesses

Turner is just too inconsistent and makes poor decisions again and again. He's reluctant to throw the ball away and takes too many sacks due to a lack of athleticism and escapability. Tends to bird-dog his targets and doesn't go through his progressions to find open receivers.

Projection

Turner may get a camp invite as an extra arm, and may show enough to land on a practice squad, but doesn't appear to have the intangibles necessary to compete as even a backup NFL QB. He may have a career in politics (he interned with the Senate Majority leader in the summer of 2009) or in the music industry (father was the original drummer for the 80s hair band, Ratt).
