OverviewAnthony Wiseman is an experienced ACC corner who has started all of the 25 games the past two seasons. Had 56 tackles, including 4 for loss, in 2009. Had 9 PDs in 2009 after recording 10 as a junior. Experienced as a return specialist as well. Former HS running back and track star. Was the national prep record holder in the indoor 200M at 21.64. Heavily recruited for football as a prep.
StrengthsWiseman has experience against some very good ACC wideouts during his career. Shows exceptional leaping ability and can challenge even the tallest receivers for the ball despite his lack of height. Physical player with deceptive strength who can get a good jam at the line of scrimmage and won't get bumped off coverage easily. Wiseman is good in run support; he recognizes the run quickly and is able to make tackles.
WeaknessesDespite track background, he doesn't appear to play as fast as he'll time. Gets fooled easily and a good route-running WR will be able to get separation easily. Has a penchant for giving up big plays. Ball skills have to be questioned, because he's clearly able to get to the ball (19 passes defended the past two years), but he doesn't have any career interceptions.
ProjectionHe should get some interest after pro day workouts as he could easily run in the 4.3s, and could hear his name in the latter stages of the 2010 NFL Draft, but will definitely be in a camp this summer.
