OverviewBruce Campbell generated a lot of excitement when he declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Campbell started one game as a true freshman in 2007 after enrolling at Maryland after a year at Hargrave Military Academy. He snagged the starting role at LT midway through his sophomore season and started 9 games at LT as a junior. He struggled with injuries this past season for the first time in his career. Campbell also played basketball and threw shot in HS. His father played basketball professionally.
StrengthsIf there's a prototype "look" for LT in the NFL, Campbell has got it. He's got the length and athleticism to handle speed rushers off the edge. He has good footwork, keeping his feet under him and shows the lateral movement necessary to mirror and prevent lunging. He sets up fairly quickly and has the ability to correct and recover. He can get to the second level and is very effective in space. He identifies and engages defenders and could be a real find for a team that runs a lot of screens. As a run blocker, he can seal well and possesses the strength to drive the defender.
WeaknessesCampbell is very, very raw. While he is an elite-level pass blocker, his run blocking skills lack. He is not terribly aggressive and relies very heavily on his athleticism. He loses the leverage battle too often and, while he is a knee-bender, appears to get lazy with his technique. He developed some troubling durability and want-to issues this past year; he'll have to assure NFL decision-makers that he's dedicated to the game and will be willing to play through the inevitable nagging injuries.
ProjectionCampbell will likely put on a clinic on athleticism at the Combine and wow some people. If he gets enough people to forget the entirety of his film, he'll emerge as a top 20 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Date/Time: 04/15/2010 - 6:37AM CDT Predicted Round: Round 1 I dont like not being good at run blocking. But I believe he will be fine Physically. I would be more worried about attitude. User: timb2 Date/Time: 02/17/2010 - 6:02AM CST Predicted Round: Round 1 Low 1st round. Campbell has had an injury that I believe will scare teams away.He had brain surgery to relieve swelling. With an impact sport such as football that is scary.Possible type would have to retire early or something serious and have his number on the back of everyones helmet tragically. User: Reuben36 Date/Time: 02/15/2010 - 8:50PM CST Predicted Round: Round 1 Athletically maybe the best o-lineman coming out of this draft.A natural LT but needs a demanding o-line coach to keep on top of him.
