OverviewCoach Dave Clawson called Sanderson his "best, most consistent defensive player." He has improved each year, after moving to outside linebacker from safety during his first two seasons. In '09 was third leading tackler with 81 (had 68 in '08), including team-high 7.5 TFLs. Had 2 blocked kicks with special teams as well.
StrengthsBrings quickness and attitude to OLB position from safety. Creates havoc in the backfield and is always moving. Sure-tackler who forced 2 fumbles in '09. Solid coverage skills with 8 break-ups and 2 INTs in '08 and an INT and 3 break-ups in '09.
WeaknessesSize is a question against the run. Lacks elite speed to move back to safety or cornerback. Could be a pass rush specialist off the edge and would need to establish value as special teamer.
