Overview

Wilson acts as a multi-sport athlete for NC State; playing quarterback in the fall and pitching in the spring. With him being good enough to go pro in either sport, it's more likely that he'll not declare and stay for his senior year to keep his options open. Though he is overshadowed by ACC quarterback counterparts Tyrod Taylor, Josh Nesbitt, and Christian Ponder, he'll still go relatively high if he decides to declare.

2009 - Threw for 3,027 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while maintaining a 59.3 completion percentage. Ran for 260 yards and four touchdowns as well. Though he did have a much better season than in 2008, he didn't receive ALL-ACC recognition. Finished with a record of 5-7.

2008 - Took 1st team ALL-ACC honors at quarterback. Completed 150 of 275 passes (54.5% completion percentage). Threw for 1,955 yards, 17 touchdowns and only one interception. Also had 394 yards rushing, along with 4 touchdowns. Ultimately led the Pack to a final record of 6-7.

Strengths

Great awareness in the pocket. Is very mobile and is one of the best quarterbacks in the country at creating more time to throw using his feet. Picks and chooses his throws and rarely forces them. Throws great on the run. Is very elusive when running and can reverse field and make changes in direction while still maintaining a north-south running style. Reminds me a little of ex-longhorn Vince Young.

Weaknesses

Though he's a tremendous athlete, Wilson does miss a lot of spring practice because of his baseball schedule. Meaning that his football-mind is not where it should be when the season starts. Declaring for the MLB Draft is also a possibility. Not an ideal height for an NFL quarterback.

Projection

As I said earlier, because of his ability to go pro in either baseball or football, he'll more likely stay for his senior year. Whether he declares or not he'll go relatively high. I say somewhere in the 4th round, 3rd if he waits.

Predicted Round: Undrafted

I've liked Wilson for a while now. He is unfortunately under the magic height for QB's. This guy is legit. He keeps his eyes downfield, always looking to make a play with his arm. IMO, a pro QB, but will his height cause him to be ignored?
