Overview

Like most centers Nitchman is smart and a battler, he has been slowed this year by a sprained knee, he has very good technique and is rarely fooled by blitzes, twists or stunts.

Strengths

Very good as the QB of the line, sees most things the defense is doing and diagnoses correctly, can hold his blocks well and get out some in space. Has played some guard and Nitchman in 2008 only allowed 1.5 sacks in nearly 350 passing plays during the regular season.

Weaknesses

Not a great athlete, and struggles when facing a player who is exceptionally quick or exceptionally strong, Suh or Shaun Rogers would be his worst nightmare. He'll need to increase his lower body pop and explosion.
