Overview

Tommy Beecher is a transfer from South Carolina,Beecher played three difficult seasons for the Gamecocks. He started the season opener last year against North Carolina State but finished 12-for-22 with 106 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. He only threw four passes the rest of the year. At one point, South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier told the Columbia State newspaper that Beecher had lost his desire to play after taking a couple of big hits against the Wolfpack. Spurrier then asked Beecher to not return to the team for his fifth season.

Upon transferring to study at the LU Seminary program he also became the starting QB for the Flames
