OverviewLeon Wright is an experienced corner for Duke and had a very productive senior season. He started all 12 games and finished 5th on the team with 58 tackles. He recorded 5 of the team's 8 interceptions, and returned 2 of them for TDs in the Army game. Battled injuries during his junior season and only recorded 12 tackles and a pick. In 2007, he started all 12 games and had 67 tackles and 3 INTs. He also received significant playing time as a true freshman in 2006. During his career, Wright also served as kick and punt returner.
StrengthsWright is a feisty player who has good speed and quickness to cover receivers. He's shown the toughness to be a regular contributor in run defense. He possesses excellent ball skills and is a good leaper who can get up after the balls. He's a consistent performer who has solid ACC experience.
WeaknessesWright is undersized and struggles to cover more physical receivers. He plays a bit stiff and can be turned around by the better route-running receivers. While he's returned punts and kicks during his career, he's never been very successful at it.
ProjectionWright is a try-hard player who just doesn't measure up to NFL standards. He probably won't hear his name called in the 2010 NFL Draft, but has an excellent chance to make and NFL camp because of his production and experience.
