OverviewDavis-Clark has seen action in 10 games at safety and cornerback he played cornerback in 2006 and 2007 before switching to free safety in 2008; this season he replaced Chris L. Rucker in the starting lineup. Though he is not the most talented Cornerback or Free Safety you could get and Davis-Clark has had injury concerns but is still a good tackler, can contribute on special Teams and possibly play in a Nickel package. He can contribute in stopping the run game may be a pleasant surprise while covering TEs and backs.
StrengthsVery solid tackler capable of bringing down tight ends and big backs one on one; Davis-Clark is a physical player who could also see time as a gunner on special teams, due to his power through contact and his overall technique in man-to-man isolation. He seems to leverage himself well through blockers and shows consistent effort to get to the ball.
WeaknessesHe struggles when isolated in pass coverage, however, and is not fluid enough to hang with quicker play-makers. Can not play in man coverage on WRs or quicker running backs. He may be best suited as a situational defensive back and special teams contributor at the next level.
ProjectionPUDFA who has an outside chance at being drafted if he has an off-the-charts pro day. But I said the same about Mike Mitchell.
