OverviewA finalist for the Walter Payton Award, which is awarded to the top player in the FCS. Lee was named the 2009 SWAC Offensive Player of the Year after posting passing numbers: 158-of-250 (63 percent), 2,039 yards passing, 19 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions with 166 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Finished the 2009 season ranked 10th nationally in passing efficiency and 17th in total offense. Lee is the all-time passing leader at Southern with 7,654 yards. Had probably his best game of the season in a 34-24 win over Alabama State, where he threw for a season-high 384 yards and four touchdowns. Threw at least two touchdown passes in seven-of-nine games this season.
Last season he was the SWAC's 2008 Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and recently landed on the Payton Award Watch List (FCS version of the Heisman). He's a dual threat quarterback and finished 8th nationally in total offense last season. He threw for 2,682 yards and 20 touchdowns during his junior campaign and was very efficient with a 62% completion rate. He also ran for 534 yards and 6 touchdowns. StrengthsAccurate and one of the best pure athletes playing QB in the nation. He throws the seam, post and in routes with good zip and proper body placement.
WeaknessesCAn be a bit too slow in checking through his progression of receivers and can get stuck on his favorite [Jaumorris Stewart]and miss other open targets.
ProjectionPUDFA who might play elsewhere if he runs a great 40 time, but he is a better NFL prospect than Armanti Edwards based on frame and ability to deliver the football and he might be as fast or faster.
