KENT, OH - Bowling Green State University seniors QB Tyler Sheehan (Cincinnati Lasalle) and WR Freddie Barnes (Chicago Heights - Homewood) combined to set 4 different school records as the visiting Falcons beat Kent State in 36-35 thriller.
Sheehan set BGSU records for attempts, completions, and yards (44 of 63 for 505 yards) while passing for 4 TDs. He also ran for another TD to win the game with just 5 seconds to play.
Barnes caught a school record 22 passes for 278 yards and 3 TDs. He leads the nation with 75 catches for 722 yards and 5 TDs in 6 games (1st with 12.5 catches per game; 5th in yards per game at 120.3).
With the win, BGSU moves to 2-4 and 1-1 in the MAC. Kent State falls to 2-4 with an identical 1-1 MAC record.
