Overview

Strengths

Super-smart player who was a finalist for the Campbell Award (Academic Heisman). Fittingly, displays great instincts, particularly vs. the pass, where he breaks up many balls and has made a number of picks in his career. Drops very smoothly and has a knack for jumping routes. Solid blitzer. Very aggressive vs. the run, and is a good hitter and tackler. Flows to the ball very well. Solid speed and athletic ability. Plays on special teams.

Weaknesses

Not very big and maxed out physically. Needs to be shielded from blockers to be effective. Sometimes is too aggressive, overpursues plays and gets lost in the wash. Didn't play as well in '09 as in prior seasons.

Projection

Mid-round pick will earn his keep on special teams while he learns the ropes as a LB. Special kid who should be in the league for a long time.
