Overviewhas been selected First-Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for the 2009 college football season as voted on by the MEAC head football coaches and sports information directors. Adams was fifth on the squad in total tackles with 48 and tied for the lead in interceptions with three, two of which he returned for scores.
Philip Adams drew attention from Kevin Simon of Dallas and other scouts at the East Coast Bowl since receivers found him hard to beat at the line of scrimmage when in press, even past the 5-yard mark. He plays with an agressive attitude and good playing speed which correlates to his first-team All-MEAC performance five tackles for loss, three interceptions, 11 pass breakups. StrengthsHe's very physically imposing and he
transitions out of his backpedal smoothly. At times he's dominated at the line in press coverage and shows some ability to close when playing off his man. WeaknessesThough very strong in press he can get a bit loss when playing off and would need to learn the fine points of playing zone.
ProjectionAdams is climbing he has joined Quintez Smith, Kevin Thornton and Rod Williams among the draft worthy HBCU CBs, he is at least a 7th rounder and with a sub 4.5 40 time he would likely go higher.
